Wonderbee was born from a deeply personal journey. While living in Singapore with my daughter Aami, I began to notice something many Malayalee parents abroad quietly feel: the struggle of helping our children truly connect with Malayalam while growing up away from Kerala. In the middle of everyday life, I often wished there was a simpler, more joyful way for her to learn and live the language. 

I also felt it in the small, tender moments during video calls with her grandparents. The screen would go quiet, not because the connection dropped, but because the words did not come easily. Her Ummamma and Uppappa would smile through it, and so would Aami, but I could feel the distance growing, not just in miles, but in the language meant to hold them together. 

Malayalam is often seen as a difficult language to learn, especially for children growing up outside Kerala. I felt this struggle closely, and I knew many families felt it too. But for me, Malayalam has always been close to my heart, a feeling of home, a bridge to our culture, stories, and identity.

I wanted my daughter to experience that connection, not as something difficult, but as something joyful. This is how Wonderbee began, with a simple belief that even the toughest language can become a playful, warm, and meaningful experience for children. In December 2023, Wonderbee officially began its journey. Since then, it has grown into a community of learners across the world, all sharing the same goal: to stay connected to Malayalam, no matter where life takes them. I dedicate this platform to my little Aami and to all the Malayalee children around the world. May they always feel proud of their language, their roots, and their story.
